Lady Captain's Day 2017
Lady Captain Maura O'Kane's Day at Killymoon was an exceptional occasion. Members, friends and family were treated to a thoroughly enjoyable day by their hostess Maura who looked amazing. Further to the success of the shotgun start over the past two years, Lady Captain Maura maintained the format this year and the ladies all met for coffee and viewed the fabulous prizes at 10.00am. Maura's chosen charity for the day was Save the Children. Ladies teed off at 11.00am on an immaculate course with great anticipation for success.
First prize went to Kate Lennon with a marvellous 37 points relegating Carmel Hagan who was runner-up with 34 points, Siobhan Rooney was third with 35 points. Ann Nugent finished fourth on 31 points and a similar score by Iris Thom was good enough for fifth place. Best gross was won by Anne MacMahon with 18 gross points. The Past Captain's Prize was won for the third successive year by Grainne McBride with 32 points and Committee Prize by Kate O'Neill with 29 points. Catherine Irwin picked up the prize for Team Captains. Front nine was won by Margaret Henderson with 18 points and the back nine by Pat McConnell with 15 points. Lady visitor's prize was won by Geraldine O'Kane. Gent's visitor's prize was won by Seamus McAleer with 30 points with Brian Gogarty runner-up. Gent's First was Alan McClenaghan with 42 points with Stephen McGuckin, a brilliant player off the yellow, runner-up on 41 points.
In her prize giving speech Lady Captain paid tribute to all who had made her day special and in particular her Honorary Secretary Lesley, committee, husband Laurence and family members. The day concluded with dancing and great craic.
