Fowler shines on Tiger’s return In a nutshell, the Hero World Challenge is a premium event. It’s played in the Bahamas with 18 of the world’s best players competing for the title. Oh, and a certain Tiger Woods was in the field for the first time since February, too. Regardless of how the 14-time major champion fared over the four days – 3 rounds in the 60s for a top 10 finish was quite impressive – it was great to see Tiger prowling the fairways once again following numerous back and knee injuries. But it was one of the new generation of stars who stormed to victory on Sunday thanks to a stunning 11-under-par 61, helping to eclipse a seven-shot deficit to overnight leader Charley Hoffman. Rickie Fowler was the man of the moment; a simply brilliant eight birdies in a remarkable front nine propelled the American to the top of the leaderboard where he remained for the rest of the day. What a performance.
